['daɪkɪȖk], Evert Augustus, amerikanischer Schriftsteller, * New York 23. 11. 1816, ✝ ebenda 13. 8. 1878, und sein Bruder George Long Duyckinck, * New York 17. 10. 1823, ✝ ebenda 30. 3. 1863; gaben 1847-53 die Literaturzeitschrift »New York Literary World« heraus und standen mit den wichtigsten amerikanischen Schriftstellern der Epoche (W. Irving, J. F. Cooper, W. C. Bryant, H. Melville) in Verbindung, deren Werke sie förderten. Beide stellten die damals umfassende »Cyclopedia of American literature« (1855, 21866, 2 Bände und 1 Supplementband) zusammen.
